Looks to me that what originally looked like Trump high jacking the Republicans has actually become the Republicans high jacking Trump.
This action represents a volte face by Trump when comparing what he ordered with how he spoke in his election campaign. Trump is not walking his talk and this missile attack is the sort of action he decried and warned us that Hillary Clinton would take.

My perception is that it has taken just under two months for the military 'experts' to set Trump on a 180 degree course change as regards to intervention in foreign wars. This will of course be massively satisfying to the anti-Trump Clintonistas on here who were worried about his inexperience leading him into untried foreign policy territory.
